The Meaning Of True Love

“The course of true love never did run smooth.” ~ William Shakespeare

Love is something that grows with time. Love is about respect, appreciation, a little selfishness and the will to accept all the characteristics of someone. Someone with whom you have spent a lot of time, both good and bad moments. ‘Love’ is not ‘true’ until it is returned. The spiritual bond between the two souls is not created if it is one sided love.

Loving someone truly is a decision, a decision to trust someone no matter what happens, a decision to be with someone in every aspect of life.

If you are looking for true love, don’t expect a prince to come and rescue you. Don’t think that a beautiful princess is waiting there for you. They are not for real. Stop dreaming about that, wake up and remember: life is not a bed of roses. And there is one thing common for life and true love – they both give you pain, but at the end, you will realize that, if it did not happen, then you could not learn something special. Life is about learning, and we learn the best lessons when we get hurt.

It is hard to define what ‘true love’ is. If you close your eyes and think your love is lost, it will feel like a rainbow. It will set your heart on fire and all the beautiful colors will burn away…

True love doesn’t mean expensive gifts, diamond rings, candle light dinners. It’s not the way to express the true love. If you love someone truly, then it will be shown by the little things that you do every day to make the person happy: when you spend time, when you take care, when you save the last piece of the cake for her, or wait for him for dinner. It will be shown with your random texts – Love You, Missing You, You Are My Everything or You Make Me Happy. It will be shown when you are sixty years old and still saying to each other: ‘you are beautiful’ / ‘you are my charming hero’.

Having the morning coffee together, spending some quality time with each other, enjoying moonlight, kissing in the rain, a little dance session in the kitchen (!)…these little things are the signs of true love.
