Best Revlon Lipstick: Review
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (est. $7) comes in 72 shades “and counting” with an “affordable” price, according to the CS review. The cream lipstick contains vitamin E and C to enhance moisture content. The product, due to its moisture content, must be applied often. The downside reported is the lipstick can travel to the wrinkles around lips.
CS states the editors of InStyle magazine on-line has awarded Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick the “best inexpensive lipstick” for 2016 and 2017. The InStyle Revlon short accolade 2017 posting states makeup artist Rachel Goodwin advises the Revlon brand reviewed “…is very on target for what women want.”
Best Lip Gloss Review
Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss (est. $7) contains natural pigments and ingredients. Some natural ingredients such as “certain herbal oils” can irritate skin, but CS states Burt’s Bees is “free of irritants.” The brand is sometimes difficult to find in retail outlets, however, Burt’s Bees can easily be purchased on-line. The product comes in four “hint of color plus shine” shades.
MAC Matte Lipstick (est. $14) was “originally developed” for a heat environment like photo shoots under lights. The matte (rough gloss) finish has “staying power,” and provides an “old Hollywood” look with subdued shine. The MAC Matte lipstick is highly rated by reviews “more often” than other lipstick brands. The only downside reported is “drying.” The product comes in 12 matte shades.
The CoverGirl Outlast All-Day Lip Color (est. $9) is smudge-proof and “excellent” for lasting up to eight hours. Although rated the “Best” lipstick with staying power, the downside reported is “drying.” CS says beauty experts advise applying a moisturizing topcoat when using this product.
The Chanel Glossimer lip gloss (est. $25) is not as “drying as lipstick.” The product comes in 28 shades, and is rated “Best” for its “glamorous shine.” The lipstick is not “as sticky” as other “leading” lip gloss products. The reported downside is the price.
Nivea Lip Balm for Sun Protection and Chapped Lips
The Nivea A Kiss of Protection Sun Protection Lip Care SPF 30 (est.$2.50) is rated “Best” for “moisture” and “broad” sun and heat protection. The product contains emollient (softening and soothing) ingredients for sealing moisture, and for lip chapping protection. User reviews frequently include accolades about the “nice texture.” The only downside reported is the product contains titanium dioxide which can leave a “white cast” on lips. CS reports the suggested remedy for “white cast” is to use the product under lipstick and gloss.
